Frequently Asked Questions
What a great idea! What made you think of politicians?
Local politics is an important part of American life. Former U.S. House Speaker, Tip O’Neill, famously said that “all politics is local.” We think he’s right! Our local elected officials are our neighbors, local businesspeople, professionals and friends – and they have an important job in making our community safe and prosperous. CivicCards is a cool way to celebrate them.

How can we buy CivicCards?
Just visit our online store! You can purchase CivicCards in interesting combinations - full sets, random packs, singles or customize your own set through MyCivicCards.

Did you meet with all the elected officials?
We were fortunate to meet with many of the elected officials, as they took time out of their busy schedules. Most agreed, CivicCards is a fun idea and a worthy educational tool!

Why did you name your debut series, The Classic Set?
We named it “The Classic Set” to honor the golden age of baseball cards. We wanted our design to capture the nostalgia of that era

Why are the cards color-coded?
We wanted CivicCards to be easy-to-understand, so we gave each government level its own eye-catching color. You can visually distinguish which office, district, and party each official represents. This is our underlying magic - a nice balance of form and function.

• Federal is Purple
• State is Green
• County is Orange
• Municipality is Yellow
• School Board is Pink

What are CivicCards’ goals?
We strive to be a source for civic awareness through a classic collectible. Trading cards are an enduring American icon, and we believe it’s a perfect way to help people connect to their civic leaders, to stimulate conversation and inspire informed citizenship.

How can CivicCards benefit our communities?
CivicCards can benefit all types of groups and people in Pittsburgh:

• Schools & Universities: CivicCards engages kids & young adults in civic awareness - an education tool for younger kids as well as a resource for students who move toward voting age.

• Community Groups: CivicCards engenders civic pride - a fun giveaway at community events, parades, conferences, and more!

• Officials & Constituents: CivicCards promotes officials - a fun campaign collectible to connect constituents to their reps, to inform who represents whom in which district.

• Businesses & Media: CivicCards provides a snapshot, an informational touchpoint for professionals and media sources.

Will you feature potential candidates for office?
We plan to release many innovative series, and a “candidate set” is certainly a product we are considering. Please do send us your suggestions for any features or sets you would like to see in the future!
